Who we’re looking for
We seek exceptional applicants who hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology or an appropriate degree from an accredited program — with a passion for serving the community and developing their skills in private practice.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is committed to growth, open to supervision and feedback, and excited about the opportunity to build a thriving private practice from the ground up.
BAPTI is a place where your clinical development and your career development happen at the same time — supported every step of the way by experienced supervisors and a community of peers.
Please note that BAPTI associates cannot hold another placement in a private practice-type setting that could be a conflict of interest.
More than a job.
A launchpad.

BAPTI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1993. We provide supportive, high-quality training to pre-licensed psychotherapists while delivering sliding scale therapy services to clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and via telehealth throughout California.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for both our employees and the clients we serve.
Applicants who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, those with disabilities, and therapists who are committed to serving a diverse client population are especially encouraged to apply.
BAPTI as a private practice incubator
BAPTI employs a rotating cohort of associate therapists and hires as needed to fill upcoming vacancies — which occur when current staff become licensed and transition into private practice. This creates a natural cycle of growth, mentorship, and community.
BAPTI utilizes a private practice model that provides training and support for pre-licensed psychotherapists, guiding them in developing their clinical skills as well as building and managing their practices in preparation for full licensure.
We also have a school-based program that supports therapists in creating community alliances and accruing additional hours toward licensure while supporting young people in our community.
