Interns
Irene Coleman, MA earned her graduate degree in counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. She works with individual, adolescents, families, couples and children. Irene's special areas of interest are trauma, addiction, parent-child relationships, blended family adjustments and divorced family co-parenting. Irene's clinical experience include helping clients with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, self-esteem, parenting and adolescent issues.
Linda Engelman,
M.A. works with
individual adults, couples, adolescents, and families, however she has a special interest in working with couples, including those going through separation/divorce. She helps couples deepen their intimacy, and move from stuck cycles of arguing and withdraw to more intimate, loving dialogue. The power/control dynamics within the couple are identified and addressed compassionately and respectfully. Linda's approach is an empathic one. At the same time, she won't just ask you "how does that make you feel?" Her approach with couples is collaborative, and very interactive.
Linda earned her master's degree in counseling psychology from
John F. Kennedy University. Caitlin Flom, M.A. enjoys working with people by supporting their individual exploration of repetitive patterns that prevent their growth and integration. She has worked with adults, couples, families, and children helping navigate issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, parent-child relationships, life-transitions, and grief. In addition to working with individuals, Caitlin is skilled in facilitating therapy groups and believes group therapy can be a powerful way to examine patterns of relationships and communication. Caitlin believes that exploration of the present moment, working with the here and now as it unfolds in therapy, informs the individual about their deep psychological truths. She received her master’s degree from John F. Kennedy University and has specialized training in Expressive Arts Therapy and treating children with Reactive Attachment Disorder. Alice Farmer,
M.A., Counseling Psychology, has worked with adults and adolescents to help them clarify their goals and achieve rewarding changes in their relationships and day-to-day lives. She has served clients coping with PTSD, anxiety, depression, past violence, trauma, grief, identity issues, and surviving transitions such as adolescence, midlife, divorce, aging. She has worked with clients to help them recognize patterns and beliefs that serve as roadblocks, and turn them into opportunities for significant and satisfying change. Her prior work includes teaching, facilitating change management in corporations, and coaching managers in interpersonal and communications styles, leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution. Cynthia Mansur,
M.A. earned a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from JFK University. She is trained in a holistic approach, which integrates non-traditional and established psychological practices. Cynthia works with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents on issues such as self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, work-related problems, relational difficulties, and living with chronic illness. M.A. holds
a masters degree in Counseling Psychology. She has clinical experience
working with individuals, couples, children and adolescents dealing with
issues that include depression, anxiety, relationships, life transitions,
parenting, communication, codependency, and family of origin. Her goal
is to help identify and resolve obstacles; and to facilitate exploration
of new perspectives, healthy adaptation, and positive growth. Caroline McDowell, M.A. earned her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children. Her clinical experience includes, but is not limited to, helping clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, life transitions, blended family adjustments, co-parenting, eating disorders, trauma, relationship and communication challenges, and addictions. Caroline enjoys working relationally and collaboratively with clients to explore and clarify the client’s life challenges, devise more effective strategies for coping with them, and create new possibilities for personal growth. Michele Spitulnik,
M.A. Counseling Psychology and Ph.D. in Education, works with children, adults, couples and families, to create more satisfying lives and relationships. Michele helps her clients navigate the stressful worlds of work, home, and school by focusing on issues such as parenting, life transitions, balancing family, career and community demands, grief and loss, self-esteem and confidence, depression, anxiety, and by fostering better communication. Michele's 16+ years of experience in the field of education were devoted to students, teachers, and parents, building engaging, dynamic, and effective learning environments. Michele provides a warm, supportive and reflective atmosphere with clients.
Josh Wilson received his Masters Degree from John F. Kennedy University. He has experience working in a variety of settings which include; schools, agencies, therapeutic camps, group work, and private practice. He has successfully worked with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. Josh believes that the foundation to successful therapy is safety, trust, and confidentiality. By working together in a collaborative effort to create change and enhance ones life, you will leave feeling more empowered, aware of your emotions, and knowing that change is possible.
